Florida is usually one of the best choices when families want to go on vacation in some new state, and not without reason. It has beaches, theme parks, and plenty of sun, that we all love. But if you want a trip that is actually memorable, you need to know where are some unique spots. Here are the best places to visit if you want have nice holidays. 

“St. Augustine: History & Unique Museums” 

The Medieval Torture Museum is the most unique stop in the city. 

If you are looking for things to do in St. Augustine that will actually keep your attention, this is it. It has a high 4.9-star rating because it is not a common exhibition. You aren’t just looking at old items, you are experience the real history of medieval crime and punishment. You might think that it sounds too eerie for a family trip, but it is actually so interesting and educational. The exhibits are super detailed. They have realistic wax figures that help you understand exactly how the devices worked on everyone from a stealthy medieval assassin to a helpless medieval slave. You get an audio guide where a character acting as an executioner medieval style tells you the stories. It really sets the mood. It’s a cool way to learn history that you won’t find in school books. 

The Tiny Things Museum is right there too. 

After you finish with the history, you should check out the Micro Masterpieces Art Gallery. It is right next to the Medieval Torture Museum, and also highly rated, namely 4.8 stars. It’s full of art that is so small you need microscopes to see it. It’s a great change of pace and kids usually love trying to spot the details in the tiny carvings. 

Castillo de San Marcos is a classic. 

You can’t go to St. Augustine and not see the big fort by the water. It’s open air, huge, and gives you a great view of the bay. It’s a good place to let the kids run around a bit while looking at the cannons. 

“Miami: Sun & Science” 

Wynwood Walls is great for photos. 

If you have teenagers, bring them here. It’s an outdoor museum of street art. The murals are colorful, huge, and perfect for Instagram. It’s free to walk around the neighborhood, though the main walls section has a small ticket price. 

Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science. 

This place is awesome for families. It has a planetarium and a giant aquarium lens that you can look up into. It’s a good way to spend a hot afternoon indoors with AC. 

“Orlando: Theme Parks & Fun” 

Universal Studios is a solid choice. 

If your family likes movies, this is usually better than the other big parks. Harry Potter world is amazing, and the rides are more thrilling. It’s busy, but it’s part of the Florida experience. 

Icon Park on International Drive. 

This is a good spot to walk around in the evening. There is a huge observation wheel, restaurants, and live music. It’s less stressful than the big parks and easy to get to.
